Find your satisfaction! Lots of people find themselves eating more than they want, or eating foods they are trying to give up. This can be as simple as eating a bit too much, or it can take the form of binge eating. We often have mixed feelings about food and exercise. Some people don’t know how to stop eating, some diet a lot, some people purge, some people exercise a lot, some people swing back and forth between being hungry and eating a lot. Maybe you are dissatisfied with food, or with your health, or your shape.
Diet and exercise are routinely recommended by doctors, but such simple advice can be hugely discouraging. It is hard to know where to start — maybe you feel judged by your doctor, and maybe you find the whole thing a great bother. If this is you, it may not be obvious how to get started and how to make choices suited to you, and even whether or not to make these changes! Finding a path that balances your feelings with the expectations of others can be tricky. Such feelings can be complicated by social norms and our own high expectations of ourselves. Managing ourselves, our bodies, and our feelings through such change can be challenging.
